“I chose this program because it’s close to my house and offered evening hours. I’m not in the best place right now as you can imagine, and to be honest this program (mostly the provider) made things a lot worse. I had to take time off of work after being hospitalized. Piyush assured me that they would help with my fmla and I didn’t need to stress about it or keep trying to get ahold of the hospital. My fmla got denied because he kept putting it off, telling me a peer recovery person would reach out to me (they never did and I was in the program for a month) and when he finally was able to meet with me and fill out the forms (which needed to be done by the provider), he literally only filled out his name and credentials and sloppily/quickly told me what to write in for the rest. I was unable to make it in for a week of groups because something came up where I had to unexpectedly leave town - and the next week I had a camping trip planned for 6 months. Because of everything going on I forgot to tell him about the camping trip he discharged me, even though I emailed him on a regular basis and received no response most of the time. When I tried to have a meeting with him, my boyfriend came along for moral support which I’m grateful that he did. Because upon seeing me he was immediately very hostile and asked what I wanted. He wouldn’t let my boyfriend come back and treated me like I had threatened them or done something very wrong. He angrily asked if I wanted help with my fmla or not and it was clear that he didn’t actually want to be there at all. It feels really awful to seek help and be treated like that. I’ll admit I wasn’t in the best place and did things far from perfectly, but this experience has made me never want to seek help from a program ever again. In the past it always felt like a money grab but this was another level of disrespect. I only gave them 2 stars because it’s supposedly harder for them to take the review down - which I’m sure they will try to do. The groups I did go to were basically 4 hours of slideshows and lazy, boring, not engaging discussions about feelings and were totally unhelpful. I almost lost my life because of my cptsd and I was treated like trash. Every time I tried to get assistance I was treated like a nuisance. They’re making so much money off of vulnerable people like me and not even putting effort in to help us. If I could give them -500 stars I would.”

“1-Star Review I am extremely disappointed with the predatory billing practices at this clinic. I have been a loyal patient here for years, but their complete lack of compassion and flexibility for families dealing with medical emergencies is unacceptable. I was hit with a steep late cancellation fee because an urgent medical appointment for my severely disabled and medically fragile child ran long. What makes this practice predatory is that I had already held face-to-face meetings with clinic management regarding my child's condition, and an explicit exception was placed on my file for these exact, unavoidable medical situations. Despite doing everything right and communicating my situation, they ignored their own internal agreement and penalized me anyway. Prioritizing rigid, automated billing systems and exorbitant fees over established patient agreements and basic human empathy is unethical. I cannot recommend a facility that treats parents of medically fragile children this way.”

“Predatory billing practices. I have medical assistance and I'm in network and 100 percent covered with Nystrom. A day after my session, I had already been emailed a bill and told that my insurance was invalid which wasn't true. I then had to go through another session because it was too late to cancel without penalty and the next day billed again. I called my insurance and they called Nystrom who said that the insurance refused the claim. Impossible since the claims were never submitted. My insurance gave them all the information needed and told them to submit the claims and they would pay with no problem. Nystrom refused and threatened me with collections. I had to escalate the complaint to Minnesota Ombudsman. It took a month for Nystrom to finally send both bills to insurance and they billed insurance more than me and didn't properly diagnose me. I then received phone calls from the billing and business managers apologizing. The billing manager told me that this happened because the billers don't know what they're doing.. I suggest training or try hiring competent staff. I came here for help with trauma and was caused additional trauma to the point where I don't trust the mental health care system anymore.”
